750 years of city rights for Landau – Vulcan congratulates the city as a partner and sponsors numerous events throughout the anniversary year.

750 years ago, in 1274, King Rudolf I of Habsburg granted city rights to the town of Landau in the Palatinate. This significant anniversary is being celebrated this year by the citizens of Landau as well as residents of the surrounding regions with numerous events. Vulcan is also among the well-wishers and is supporting many events throughout the anniversary year. For example, the company was one of the sponsors of the Bréal Marathon, which took place for the first time in Landau’s history on October 3. Nearly 3,000 running enthusiasts registered for the marathon, the half marathon, the Ekiden marathon relay, and other competitions.

As a cooperation partner of the city, Vulcan also sponsored some of the prizes, including those for the Ekiden Marathon. Together with Lord Mayor Dr. Dominik Geißler, Vulcan Managing Director Thorsten Weimann and Jörg Zeilinger, Director of Project Development, presented the prizes to the athletes.

“We feel a strong connection to the region,” said Thorsten Weimann. “And we want to express that connection by partnering with various events, because we aim to shape the future with and for the people.”

Committed to Landau

Back in the summer, Vulcan supported the largest public viewing event in all of Rhineland-Palatinate, which drew thousands of football fans to the Neuer Messplatz from June 14 to July 14.

Also in June, Vulcan supported one of the most well-known and popular sporting events of the year: the pole vault meeting, where the world’s best pole vaulters reach new heights every year in Landau.

And at the end of September, Vulcan appeared as a sponsoring partner at the sold-out Landau Art Nouveau Festival Hall. Nearly 1,000 visitors came to see and hear local dialect artist Gringo Mayer.
